We are an agroecological farm located in La Azulita, Merida, Venezuela. Our current focus is on reforesting approximately 7 hectares of the property, cultivating a productive food forest. Primary crops are coffee and cacao, though we've yet to enjoy our first harvest.
We work in a closed loop system on the farm. Inspired by different philosophies and practices, most people would describe what we do as "homesteading," but with a long-term commercial focus.
Our dream is to prove that smaller scale agroecological production is not only environmentally sustainable but economically sustainable - not only for the individual land owners, but as part of a larger rural farm-based economy. We are currently planting out coffee and cacao, among an incredible variety of other productive trees, with the goal of producing fine specialty products both for export and domestic and local consumption. We aim to provide solid jobs for our local community, contributing to the long term viability of our local village.
