Given the Locations of Elvekas Venture's Farm Locations (Hilly) The farm has been susceptible Erosion and Leaching making it affect Crop production as our main crop (Sweet Corn) is a heavy nutrient consumer.
Our first approach was to grow legumenous grasses and later Cover crops followed by Mung Bean which supplemented the Nitrogen content at lenght.
Next, we added tones of cow dung from our nearby range and increased the nutrient and trace element contents in the soil.
Finally after soil test confirmed that our Farm has enough nutrient we also supply a small amount of chemical fertilizer to max up production for the maize and red beans intercropped.
