Taino Farm is an agroecological and permaculture-inspired educational center located along the tropical Rio Yasica, just outside Cabarete in the Dominican Republic. Surrounded by lush riverbanks and vibrant coastal culture, the farm serves as a living classroom where visitors, students, and travelers can experience regenerative land stewardship firsthand. Its mission is rooted in demonstrating how food production, tourism, and community life can coexist in harmony with natural ecosystems.
Guided by the ethics of Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share, the farm showcases a wide range of integrated systems designed to restore soil, enhance biodiversity, and reduce environmental impact. With more than 100 fruit tree species, a thriving aquaponics system, diverse vegetable gardens, chickens, a worm farm dedicated to compost creation, and their own bee colonies, Taino Farm demonstrates how interconnected biological processes can generate abundant, nutritious, and sustainable food. Every element is planned to support ecological balance and resilience, offering practical examples of how agroecology can transform local food systems.
This living project is sustained by a vibrant community of over ten families who collaborate, teach, and manage the daily rhythms of the land. Their shared commitment to regenerative agriculture fosters a culture of learning, cooperation, and ecological responsibility. At Taino Farm, guests not only observe sustainable practices—they are invited to participate, reflect, and carry forward the knowledge needed to build a more regenerative and nature-aligned future.
