Short description of your place and practices

The Treehouse Permaculture Center is 20 acres of Longleaf Pine ecosystem just south of Tallahassee. We practice Organic, Biodynamic, and Permaculture methods to grow quality produce, and restore the ecosystem.

The Treehouse is dedicated to providing healthy and sustainable food options to our Tallahassee community while simultaneously restoring biodiversity on the land it occupies through food forestry, silvopasture, and market farming.

Details of the farming system

Our core intention is to design our farm with a focus on sustainable food production and habitat restoration.

What is your dream for the future of your farm and/or your location in general?

“People care” is one of the three pillars of permaculture. While the large conventional agriculture model does not always support the local communities they occupy, Treehouse Permaculture makes a special effort to build community. We sell at community farmers markets and have hosted many farm gatherings over the years teaching our community how to create gardens, make mushroom logs, and identify native edible plants.
