The Kul Kul Farm

Short description of your place and practices

We are a permaculture farm located a skip away from the Green School in Bali. We are passionate about growing healthy, wholesome food. We share skills and provide educational experiences in permaculture design, bamboo building, gardening and earth friendly living in the form of short workshops and courses. We bring skilled teachers from Bali and the world with down-to-earth expertise in creating beautiful and sustainable living systems.

We grow seasonal, organic food, herbs and flowers

We grow organic food using bioIntensive and syntropic farming practices. We make our own compost, raise our own seeds and save seeds whenever possible. Some of what we grow includes, coconuts, bananas, passion fruit, kale, bok chop, rucola, eggplant, cucumber, pumpkin, peanuts, sweetcorn, ginger, turmeric, sweet potato, chillies, cassava, taro, sunflowers, butterfly pea, rosella and zinnia flowers.

We raise free range animals
We raise chickens and black Balinese heritage pigs.

We build with bamboo
Most of our buildings are built by our bamboo carpenters out of locally harvested and treated bamboo. We have 8 bamboo yurts and 4 bamboo rooms as accommodation for students and guests.

Make herbal remedies
We make and teach about herbal remedies, include herbal teas, salves, tinctures and essential oils.

We teach and host events, workshops and retreats
Find out what’s on here. We also recently launched Bamboo U (www.bamboou.com) to teach architects and designers how to build and design using bamboo.

We make delicious food and share it with others
We have a cafe at the Green School where we serve homegrown and made meals, fermented foods and drinks, cold pressed juices and snacks. We host Farm-To-Table lunches most Mondays. Join the next one.
