Private field monitoring laboratory for soil and water restoration in lowland Chao Phraya river basin by FoodInnovate, the non-profit organisation in Thailand focusing on urban-rural co-production for sustainable food systems through agroecology.
We have restored the soil and water qualities by ending the use of agrochemicals, planting fruit trees and woody trees, changing agricultural practices to organic farming. The microclimate and evapotranspiration around the mini-forest of woody trees now accommodate vegetable plantations with low maintenance.
BTLLAgroforestry also acts as a mediator for agri-food research translation on the BCG economy at the farm level for its mission as a local social coordinator. We have extended our mission to social inclusion within the village and local schools, emphasizing the food-health-ecology-society nexus since early 2022.
