Belentepe Permaculture Practice and Wildlife Farm

Short description of your place and practices

Belentepe is a story of search for a more meaningful and enjoyable life and a transformation.
Transformation starts with small steps, but it accelerates over time when enough information, effort, time and resources are given. The important thing is to want to transform and set out with accessible work.

Most of us have been trained to be a part of the current system, we have entered the working life and we have tried to carry on our own lives by fulfilling the tasks envisaged for us. We are not different either. There are some fundamental problems that most of us do not realize or can do nothing about: Due to fossil fuel-based lifestyles, the balance of nature is rapidly deteriorating, climate change is accelerating. So much so that serious consequences are now being seen: decreases in food production, price increases, unexpected disasters, extreme heat, drought, increasing diseases, etc.

If we wait for the solution from the rulers of the countries, we expect more, but while we wait, the situation will worsen. Although the current trend has been known worldwide since 1992, the situation has only gotten worse and more serious until now. WE ARE THE SOLUTION. As individuals, we should be aware of our own footprint on this world and take steps as individuals to reduce the damage we are doing to the world and nature.

Of course, if I try alone, not much will change, but if you start to strive and transform, then the chances of something changing will start to increase. This is what we can do and we have to do what we can.

Belentepe farm is an important step we have taken as a family for the pursuit of sustainable life and is an example. It is a reference to produce a greater number of better examples. 'Cooperation and Sharing of Surplus' is essential in permaculture ethics. We try to share our knowledge and experience as much as we can.

In the beginning, we didn't know much either. And we were also uneasy at the enormity of the things we intended. Permaculture has drawn a good roadmap for us, enabling us to build the farm without making big mistakes. We learned lessons from the small mistakes we made, gained experience, and then did better.

The most important step is to seek the 'transformation' and make a start. It is not necessary to set up a farm. Even works such as balcony gardening in cities, investment in clean energy or sourcing clean food from the nearby countryside with a group of friends are very useful steps that can be achieved. The important thing is to start the transformation individually, to create solutions together with others and to realize the transformation over time.

We are not alone, you are not. Together, let's TURN as much as we can.
